Caldwell is right, sports don't happen just once a month, it's time to put in perspective what has transpired the last month.

One thing we can take away from the NCAA tourney is... Never count on BYU to pull an upset, they lack tenacity and spunk. BYU would have been better off in the NIT.
But that's not the only story surrounding the best sporting event in all of college athletics. Coach Tom Izzo & Michigan State showing up in front of their University and financially sinking city, to beat out Uconn at Ford Field. To arrive in the National championship game (which I, your back page truths annalist predicted) was majestic and much needed feel good story for the city. Unfortunately any future Disney movie will have to be cut short, due to the Rated R butt whopping that took place from UNC.

Ooh.. I can't wait for SUU to dance again

The Masters 2009: Will go down in history in Back Page Truths history as one of the greatest Masters ever. Between Phil Mickelson's, and Tiger's roaring comeback on Sunday, Kenny Perry's old out of shape body pacing for history books, or even Chad Campbells long await... something had to give right? Wrong. Angel Cabrera of Argentina decided to accidentally have his ball head butt a tree in the sudden death playoff, and have it lay up perfectly in the fairway, and eventually win the whole tourney.
Ill admit I'm extremely upset. The only sense of comfort I have in this is the Green jacket has never made it to Argentina. The only reason that means something to me is because in 1968, it 100% should have.
BACKFLASH..
In 1968, Bob Goalby and Reberto DeVicenzo were the two leading contenders, Bob Goalby the American birdied the 13th and 14th and eagled the 15th to record a final round of 66. At first it appeared that he and Roberto DeVicenzo the Argentine would play in a playoff, but DeVicenzo returned an incorrect scorecard showing a 4 on the 17th instead of a birdie 3. Tommy Arron his caddie incorrectly marked the 4 and DeVicenzo failed to catch the mistake and signed the scorecard. PGA rules stated that the higher written score signed by a golfer on his card must stand. As such, the error gave Goalby the championship.
At last the Green Jacket visits Agentina.

Till next time folks:

Fui

The man is knocking on the door to the NFL as a blue collared occupant (FB). A few of the teams answering his yelp, to name a few: Bengals, Chargers, 49ers, Cowboys, NY Giants. All great organizations, All great places to visit (stay away Alanta, Baltimore, Pittsburgh.)

Coming out of High school we all knew Fui as the main character on our East High Highlight video..... and oh do I remember making some popcorn and sitting 7 to a couch to watch.

Blocking for the Fui in a game was easy, staying out of his way at practice was difficult physically and verbally, he consistently abused his team, on a personal mission to toughin everyone up. My 155 pound frame didn't have to block my opponent with him, I just had to get his way, because Fui would go either way of the block running at a 40-yard dash time of 4.4. This guy averaged +10 yards per carry (112 carries for 1,107 yards as a senior.) A favorite play of mine with Fui is when he broke 3 tackles and was in a absolute maul, everyone (especially Alex Thorley...of course) walked back to start the next huddle, just then Fui popped out and ran for a few more yards. He was an animal... 15 punt returns for 434 yards and 11 kick returns for 293 yards ... registered 12 touchdowns as a senior, including two defensive TDs ... credited with three interceptions and four sacks and two forced fumbles. MVP of our team, and MVP of his National rugby championship Team.

Fui and William had more invites to attend college than any other person in our 80 person acapella class. There were no slouches in Ms. Applegate's class either, I think a few went on to graduate in honors at several universities: Dartmouth, BYU, NYU, SUU (or no).. but none of us received Evan a junk mail forward from University of Phoenix. This man had choices, even Nebraska flew Fui out (they are an equivalent of USC today.) I remember going with Fui to a U of U football practice, coaches were drooling. I heard flattery such as, " We had a play that we refuse to run this year, mainly because we are saving it for you next fall." The biggest invites other than Fui and Will on our team were 6 of us received Weber State walk-on invites (I'm pretty sure coach Whitehead might have typed up himself.)

I've loved having Fui play for BYU, I've played the, 'I know him card' more in the last 3 years than I have with my own Dad in 25 years. It's too bad he was hampered with continuous injuries, after all was said in done though, it might have been a blessing in disguise. Half back is such an elitist position he might not have made it with sharing runs with Unga JR and SR years. With Tonga out this last year, Fui has become one of the most exciting players to watch at one of the dullest rolls you could have at BYU.

I think he will grow in knowledge at Full Back and make it in the league. I tell him the golden number is 1.2 million. If he can hit that point, which would take 3 or 4 years in the league at minimum, NFL salary (Maximum real life salary) he could be set. Put it into U.S treasury bonds and earn $60,000 on annuities. The rest will be sipping pina colatas in Tonga.

Go FUI!!!

Back Page Truth

This is the beggining of a revolution for sports journalism, no more controversy, the truth needs to be told. We deserve to get right to the bone of it. This source is coming from a pit stop on I-15, and from an unlikely barely passing finanace Major. But truth be told, this blog is a diamond in the haystack.

This is a totally creditable source ya'll.

Bottom line, if I had started to bet a 100$ in 1994 when the World wide web began accepting functional betting, I'd be at least driving a 07' pontiac, rather than a 97'. My formula would have been simple... bet on the Jazz, BYU (Football) to win and SUU Football to lose. This is a winning formula that has fueled my 15 year love affiar of sports. ( By the way I wouldn’t have lost any money during the 03-05 seasons from the Jazz* or BYU**, because I was on my mission to Vancouver, and missionaries don’t bet! Even SUU pulled an 180 on us and almost pulled off a winning season***. I heard everyone one in Cedar City thought it might have been one of the signs of the times. Then we later found out it wasn't such times yet, but only that we had one of the greatest coaches that Utah had to offer, Gary Anderson. )

Hope you enjoy reading some back page truths,
