Caldwell is right, sports don't happen just once a month, it's time to put in perspective what has transpired the last month.
One thing we can take away from the NCAA tourney is... Never count on BYU to pull an upset, they lack tenacity and spunk. BYU would have been better off in the NIT.
But that's not the only story surrounding the best sporting event in all of college athletics. Coach Tom Izzo & Michigan State showing up in front of their University and financially sinking city, to beat out Uconn at Ford Field. To arrive in the National championship game (which I, your back page truths annalist predicted) was majestic and much needed feel good story for the city. Unfortunately any future Disney movie will have to be cut short, due to the Rated R butt whopping that took place from UNC.
Ooh.. I can't wait for SUU to dance again
The Masters 2009: Will go down in history in Back Page Truths history as one of the greatest Masters ever. Between Phil Mickelson's, and Tiger's roaring comeback on Sunday, Kenny Perry's old out of shape body pacing for history books, or even Chad Campbells long await... something had to give right? Wrong. Angel Cabrera of Argentina decided to accidentally have his ball head butt a tree in the sudden death playoff, and have it lay up perfectly in the fairway, and eventually win the whole tourney.
Ill admit I'm extremely upset. The only sense of comfort I have in this is the Green jacket has never made it to Argentina. The only reason that means something to me is because in 1968, it 100% should have.
BACKFLASH..
In 1968, Bob Goalby and Reberto DeVicenzo were the two leading contenders, Bob Goalby the American birdied the 13th and 14th and eagled the 15th to record a final round of 66. At first it appeared that he and Roberto DeVicenzo the Argentine would play in a playoff, but DeVicenzo returned an incorrect scorecard showing a 4 on the 17th instead of a birdie 3. Tommy Arron his caddie incorrectly marked the 4 and DeVicenzo failed to catch the mistake and signed the scorecard. PGA rules stated that the higher written score signed by a golfer on his card must stand. As such, the error gave Goalby the championship.
At last the Green Jacket visits Agentina.
Till next time folks:
